Manchester United produced a ruthless second-half performance to overwhelm Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-1 at Molineux, a result that lifted Ruben Amorim’s side level on points with Chelsea and into the Premier League’s top six.

The opening stages were tight, with both teams probing cautiously, but United struck first in the 25th minute when Bryan Mbeumo’s surging run and cut-back found captain Bruno Fernandes, who calmly slotted home. Wolves responded just before halftime as Jean-Ricner Bellegarde pounced on a loose ball to equalise, leaving the contest finely balanced at the break.

United seized control after the restart. Mbeumo restored the lead in the 50th minute with a poacher’s finish from Diogo Dalot’s low cross, and Mason Mount added a third ten minutes later with a spectacular volley from Fernandes’ lofted pass. Fernandes capped his man-of-the-match display in the 82nd minute, converting a penalty after Yerson Mosquera fouled Joshua Zirkzee in the box.

The statistics reflected United’s dominance: 64 percent possession, 27 shots with 10 on target, and relentless attacking pressure that left Wolves winless in four and increasingly fragile at home.

The victory pushed United to 25 points from 16 matches, trailing Chelsea on goal difference but extending their unbeaten away run.

Manager Ruben Amorim hailed his captain’s influence, saying: “Bruno was outstanding—vision, leadership, everything. This is the standard we want.” Wolves boss Rob Edwards admitted his side had competed well in the first half but conceded: “The second half was a different level.”
